A Pennsylvania woman is accused of killing her newborn after the 23-year-old’s father found the dead child outside their home in a plastic bag.

Brittany Robinson’s father reportedly discovered the remains underneath their porch in Shenango while decorating their home for the holidays, reports said.

Reports said that no one living in the home with Robinson knew she was pregnant and she allegedly told authorities she was unaware she was pregnant when she gave birth in her home bathtub on Friday, the Post-Gazette reported.

The baby, who was full term, was born 7 pounds but Robinson told police she could not detect a pulse and then placed the body in a dresser drawer, reports said.  She checked on the child the next morning and then moved the fetus into a crawlspace underneath the porch, KDKA reported.

Police have said, however, that the 23-year-old knew she was “pregnant prior to giving birth.”

“The baby was a viable 7-pound baby boy,” Lt. Eric Hermick, of the Pennsylvania State Police, told Fox News. “They’re still looking to determine if there was some exterior cause of death or the elements that killed the baby, but either way, the baby was born alive and cleaned up and then placed under there.”

Multiple reports claim nobody who was living in the same residence as Robinson knew she was pregnant. Robinson is charged with criminal homicide, concealing the death of a child, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

Robinson also has an 8-year-old child, but does not have custody, FOX 8 reported.

She is being held at the Lawrence County Jail without bail.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday to determine the newborn’s cause of death.
