Lulu Bandera-Margaret, l., and Lili Griffith, ages 7 and 14, are the subjects of Amber Alerts issued by Texas authorities. Round Rock Police Dept.

Authorities are desperately searching for the daughters of a slain Texas mother whose roommate is believed to have the girls, police said.

Police and federal agents are hunting a Texas man who is believed to have abducted the children of his roommate, whose body was found Sunday in their suburban home.

Amber Alerts have been issued for Lili Griffith, 14, and Lulu Bandera-Magret, 7, who were last seen Saturday. Authorites say they are in grave danger.

Round Rock City Police conducted a welfare check at Leslie Court home on Sunday, and discovered the body of Tonya Bates, 44, the girls' mother.  The children, and 44-year-old roommate Terry Miles, were nowhere to be found, investigators said.

"We believe that the two daughters are in the presence of Terry Allen Miles," said police chief Allen Banks at press conference Monday. Miles was described as being 6 feet, 2 inches tall, with hazel eyes, a beard and brown hair. He weighs about 200 pounds.

"Our concern and our focus is bringing the two girls home safe," said the chief. "We ask for the public's help in locating the two young girls."

Their mother's cause of death is pending an autopsy, but police deemed her death "suspicious" and named Miles as a person of interest in the killing.

Investigators said the relationship between the adults was not romantic. Bates was a hospital worker. It was not clear how the two met or became roommates.

A police department spokesman told InsideEdition.com Tuesday there was no new information to release on the case.

Authorities said Miles may be driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Accent four-door hatchback with Texas plates JGH9845. Possible sightings have occurred in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
