It was a night of star-studded red carpet moments at the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®. Unlike the other awards show, this is by actors for actors, so what you see is wall-to-wall stars
Alec Baldwin introduced INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret to his date, daughter Ireland, a very grown up 13-year-old.
She told INSIDE EDITION she was "very proud" of her dad, and said it was a lot of fun to walk the red carpet with him.
Ireland had good reason to be proud, because a short time later, her dad won, twice! First, for Best Actor in a Comedy, and again as a member of the ensemble of 30 Rock.
30 Rock was the biggest winner of the night. Star Tina Fey picked up yet another Best Actress award for her role on the show.
There was a poignant moment when Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor. His Dark Knight co-star Gary Oldman became misty-eyed as he accepted the award on Heath's behalf.
Meryl Streep was surprised by her win for Best Actress for Doubt. "I didn't even buy a dress!" she protested at the podium.
And Kate Winslet took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for The Reader. Her stunning cobalt gown was a big hit on the red carpet, and mirrored the trend of the evening, bright colors and simple lines.
"The bright colors put me in a good mood, I mean if that’s what they were trying to do, they put us all in a better mood," says people.com's Michelle Beadle.
Beadle loved Christina Applegate's Grecian-inspired bright green Ungaro gown and Angelina Jolie's simple blue draped dress.
"They kind of went back to a simple Hollywood time," she says.
Teri Hatcher went against the grain with a stunning white one-shoulder gown and Katie Holmes chose a knee-length dark green Jil Sander sheath dress. Mickey Rourke drew stares with his silver suit and chains.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt delighted fans by swinging by to greet them. They singled out one lucky boy for special attention.
"Maybe she thought I was cute," guessed 12-year-old Vincent Lorenzo, who showed INSIDE EDITION the autographs he scored from Angelina and Brad Pitt.
"When she signed it she said, 'You want Brad's too?' I said, 'Yes please,' and she gave it to him and he signed it and then she gave it back to me," Vincent said.
And it was a good night for the stars of Slumdog Millionaire; they were named Best Movie Cast.
