Les Trent, a veteran of syndicated television, is a New York-based senior correspondent. He joined Inside Edition in the fall of 2000.

Trent has covered breaking stories around the world for more than a decade. Most recently, Trent has been out on the campaign trail interviewing Presidential candidates including U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton. The New York Observer praised Trent for his insightful and persistent questioning of U.S. Sen. John Edwards and declared that Trent "stole the show" at the presidential hopeful's Manhattan press conference.

Trent is most proud of covering the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina and its heartbreaking aftermath. He was one of the first journalists to report from inside St. Rita's Nursing Home, where 34 elderly residents perished after being left behind during the height of the storm.

Trent also provided Inside Edition's coverage of the 2006 and 2007 Cannes Film Festival and traveled to Rome, Italy, for a screening at the Vatican of the CBS mini-series on the life of the late Pope John Paul II. He also interviewed actor Jon Voight about his starring role as the late pontiff.

Prior to joining Inside Edition, Trent spent five years as an on-air correspondent on King World's "American Journal." He also spent more than 10 years as a local news reporter and anchor in Buffalo, N.Y., and San Francisco, Calif.

Trent is a graduate of Seneca College in Toronto, Canada, and resides in Bloomfield, N.J.
