Brittany Murphy's Husband Plans to Sue Warner Brothers
Warner Brothers is firing back, calling claims made by Brittany Murphy's husband that the movie studio caused the young star's tragic death "false, reprehensible, and defamatory."
Murphy's husband, screenwriter Simon Monjack, says he plans to file a lawsuit blaming Warner Brothers for Murphy's fatal heart attack because he claims the studio fired her right before her death.
On the Today show, Monjack said, "A week before she died...They're making Happy Feet 2 and she was offered the role of Gloria again in the remake, and unfortunately Warner Brothers pulled the offer based off of rumors that are untrue."
But in a statement, the studio says: "Warner Bros. Pictures and Ms. Murphy never entered into any deal for Happy Feet 2, and thus, there was not a contract to cancel."
