Los Angeles night club cocktail waitress Jasmine Waltz found herself at the center of the Courteney Cox marriage drama. She was peppered with questions about her relationship with Cox's husband, actor David Arquette, just hours after the couple announced they are legally separated.

During a tell-all interview with Howard Stern, Arquette confirmed that he did have a fling with Jasmine Waltz, but he says it happened after he had already split from Cox.

Stern: "I know you have a girlfriend now that you are moving in with."
Arquette: [Expletive deleted]! I don't have a girlfriend. I had sex with a girl once...maybe twice.
Stern: Maybe twice.

Arquette admitted that he and Cox secretly split months ago, but they were forced to come forward after his relationship with the cocktail waitress became public.

"Yesterday my first, my only, conquest became public.  And so, we had to release the statement," Arquette explained to Stern.

In the joint statement the embattled couple wrote:

"We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply."

Arquette is also speaking out about those rumors that Cox had an affair with her Cougar Town co-star.

Arquette: I truly don't think she ever had an affair with Brian Van Holt. On an emotional level I think she may have...
Stern: ....Bonded with him.
Arquette: Bonded with him. Yes.

Cox and Arquette met in 1996 on the set of the hit movie Scream and were married three years later. Ironically Arquette says their marital problems came to a head while filming the yet-to-be released Scream 4.

"I'm feeling distance, obviously, from my wife.  We have not had sex in quite a... at that time, a month or so. Since then it's been like four months or so," Arquette said during his interview with Stern.

Just after the Howard Stern interview, Arquette spoke to photographers outside a diner in Los Angeles where he had breakfast with the couple's 6-year-old daughter Coco. He told Stern about the heartbreaking conversation he and Cox had with their daughter.

"We went to the beach and had a picnic and sat her down and explained to her that you know, we're grown ups and a lot of times when grown ups are grown up they need to figure out their lives," said the actor.

Arquette says he's holding onto hope that he can still save his troubled marriage.

"We're still working it out. We still love each other," he told Stern.

"You're not going to do anything like beg Courteney to get back with you though, are you?" asked Stern.

"I've been begging Courteney to get back with me," Arquette said.
