Gwyneth Paltrow Wows the Crowd at the CMAs
Gwyneth Paltrow goes country! The actress made her live singing debut at the Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Oscar®-winner looked nervous but determined as she belted out the title track from her upcoming film, Country Strong.
Before the performance, Paltrow arrived in a daring Versace cut-out gown.
She told INSIDE EDITION she was very excited as she walked the red carpet.
Paltrow said she got ready for her big night country-style. "I went to a great bar across the street and had a pint of Guinness. I'm feeling good!"
Inside, the country crowd rooted for her, and gave her a standing ovation. Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban joined in.
The show's host Carrie Underwood looked gorgeous in a strapless gray gown. It was the first of eight wardrobe changes for the star.
Former Dancing with the Stars dancer Julianne Hough dazzled in a sparkly black one-shoulder gown, but she remained mum when asked about reports that she's dating Ryan Seacrest.
Katherine Heigl looked adorable in a strapless navy blue gown and she graciously let her singer-husband Josh Kelley take the spotlight.
Country star Miranda Lambert was beaming about her nine nominations.
"It's awesome, I'm trying to breathe!" she said.
She took home four awards, including Best Female Vocalist.
But the Country Music Awards will best be remembered as the night a girl born and raised in New York City stole the spotlight in Nashville.
Country Strong opens in theatres on January 7th.
