Tearful Oprah and Whoopi Goldberg End Imaginary Feud

Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah discovered that after years of "feuding," they really were never angry at each other after all. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Oprah was in tears while discussing her longstanding feud with actress Whoopi Goldberg.

Oprah says, "Whoopi came up to me and she said, 'Can I just ask you something?' She said, 'Did I do something to you?' "

"I said, 'What are you talking about?' " says Oprah. "She says, 'All these years, you know, we've been disconnected and I just want to know, did I do something?'  I said, 'All these years I thought you were mad at me.' "

Rumors of a running feud have dogged Oprah and Goldberg since they made The Color Purple back in 1985 – 25 years ago.

The rumors were fueled in 2006 when Goldberg was noticeably absent from Oprah's Legends Ball, which brought together many notable African-American women.

Now they are putting it all behind them. It turns out the rift boiled down to a simple misunderstanding.

"So, you weren't mad at me," says Oprah.
"No," replies Goldberg.
"Why did you think I was mad at you?" she asks.
"I don't know. I just guess 'cause people kept saying you were," Goldberg explains.

Goldberg appears on Oprah's show to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Color Purple with the rest of the cast.
