Joan Rivers Says Fox Canceled Her for Palin Joke

Joan Rivers says it was because of a joke she made about Sarah Palin that Fox News suddenly her canceled her appearance with her daughter Melissa. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

Has Joan Rivers been banned from Fox News?

That's what the fiery comedian is claiming today. She says it's all because she mocked Sarah Palin, a Fox News contributor.

Melissa Rivers said on HLN's The Joy Behar Show, "My mom made a comment, 'I don't think Sarah Palin is very smart.' "

Joan and daughter Melissa had been booked to appear on Fox and Friends to promote their new cable reality show. But that appearance was suddenly canceled after Joan was quoted calling Sarah Palin "stupid" and "a threat."

"We called and asked why, and they said it was because of what was said about Sarah Palin," said Rivers.

A Fox News spokesman says it's a misunderstanding and that Rivers has not been banned, saying, "Due to the volume of news topics, our booker mistakenly canceled Joan's appearance instead of re-scheduling her. We're in the process of booking her on an upcoming show."

But Rivers is not backing down from her rants about Palin. Here's what she said on The Joy Behar Show last night: "She's a Nazi!"

She even lashed out at Palin's daughter Bristol, saying, "I voted for her stupid daughter who couldn't dance at all because I felt sorry for her."
