The sex scandals surrounding Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dominique Strauss-Kahn are causing some to wonder why powerful men think it is acceptable misbehave. INSIDE EDITION has more.
Why do powerful men misbehave with the help?
Mildred "Patty" Baena was Schwarzenegger's housekeeper for 20 years. Prominent international banker Dominique Strauss-Kahn's alleged victim was a chambermaid at his New York hotel.
New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd is calling the phenomenon the "raw assertion of male power."
Matrimonial lawyer Marilyn Chinitz says famous men with money and power often look no further than their own homes for their next conquests.
"Men who are extremely powerful feel that they could do anything they want, and when they have the opportunities, and they do, nothing can stop them," Chinitz tells INSIDE EDITION.
Actor Jude Law infamously had an affair with his children's nanny, Daisy Wright, while he was engaged to gorgeous actress Sienna Miller. Law's 8-year-old son found them in bed together.
"I was thinking, 'Oh my goodness, this is horrific,' " Wright told INSIDE EDITION's Deborah Norville in 2005.
Norville asked, "Did he seem concerned that his child had just walked in?"
"No, no," said Wright.
"He seemed absolutely unperplexed by this?"
"Yes," she said.
Ethan Hawke ended up marrying his nanny, who worked for Hawke when he was married to Uma Thurman. Hawke says, "I liken my situation to The Sound of Music, not to Jude Law."
Robin Williams also married his nanny. They went on to have two kids and were married for 19 years before divorcing in 2008.
