Brad Pitt Apologizes to Jennifer Aniston

Brad Pitt is backtracking over remarks he made about the time in his life when he was married to Jennifer Aniston that he says were misinterpreted. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

Brad Pitt now says he regrets making those catty remarks about ex-wife Jennifer Aniston in the new issue of Parade magazine that led to worldwide uproar.

He told the magazine his life was "pathetic" when he was married to America's sweetheart, adding, "I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

Now he's apologizing—big-time. He issued a statement saying:

"It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself, and that, I am responsible for."

Bonnie Fuller, Editor-in-Chief of hollywoodlife.com, told INSIDE EDITION, "Brad's comments were so harsh. He already humiliated and embarrassed Jen when he left her seven years ago for his co-star Angelina Jolie, plus she had to suffer from heartbreak. Now he comes back seven years later and publicly attacks the marriage that she thought was good."

In the Parade interview, Brad calls himself a "satisfied man" with Angelina Jolie.

INSIDE EDITION found Jen out in New York's Greenwich Village Thursday night with her new boyfriend, actor Justin Theroux. He's featured in the October issue of GQ with a beard.

No comment yet from Jen about her ex's harsh remarks and his subsequent apology.

"Brad's new interview where he disses Jen, is like backstabbing her," said Fuller.
