Kim Kardashian Files For Divorce

After just 72 days of marriage, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for their split. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce from basketball star Kris Humphries just two months after their $10 million storybook wedding!

INSIDE EDITION obtained the divorce papers showing Kardashian's signature. The papers call for a "dissolution of the marriage" due to "irreconcilable differences."

Kardashian said, "After careful consideration I've decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish eachother the best."

Ryan Seacrest, executive producer of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, broke the news on his radio show: "She's filing for divorce from Kris Humphries this morning. I've spoken to her briefly, and she says she's sad."

The big-bucks wedding took place on August 20th. Kardashian filed for divorce on October 31st, after just 72 days of not-so-wedded-bliss.

"The fact that she got married so quickly, and that it was taped for her reality TV show, did make people ask well, is this wedding, is this marriage, is it for real?" said People magazine reporter Carlos Greer.

Reactions to the split from INSIDE EDITION viewers was swift and skeptical!

"I don't think the marriage was ever real," one viewer wrote on our Facebook page.

"Can you say publicity stunt?" another wrote.

"It's all about the money, they both got paid for the wedding!" said another viewer.

Another wrote, "All the money she made off the wedding she should give to charity!"

On Saturday, Kardashian was in New York for a Halloween party, dressed as sexy Batman villain Poison Ivy. She was said to be "miserable" as she partied solo.

On Sunday she was back in Los Angeles, wearing a slinky blue spaghetti-strap dress at an anti-bullying event. She was flanked by her sisters as she introduced teen star Demi Lovato.

Before news of the split broke, Kelly Ripa and guest host Nick Lachey dressed up as Kardashian and Humphries on the Halloween episode of Live with Regis and Kelly.

Kardashian has hired high-powered lawyer Laura Wasser to represent her in the divorce. She and her husband signed a pre-nup before the marriage. Sources say Humphries was "bummed out" by the divorce.
