The Victoria's Secret Angels not only wear the sexiest lingerie in the world, they also wear those unmistakable wings, which are actually elaborate works of art.
The extravagant wings worn by Alessandra Ambrosio during the big showare decorated with more than 100,000 Swarovski crystals. INSIDE EDITION was there as each crystal was painstakingly put in place.
The wings are handcrafted and take weeks, even months, to complete.
One designer worked for three days straight just applying cellophane and heat to the steel structure. And that's only the beginning; holes are drilled in sea shells so they can be applied to the wings.
"It is very competitive with our models about who gets wings. You earn your wings, you are a Victoria's Secret Angel when you get your wings," said Monica Mitro, executive producer of the Victoria's Secret fashion show.
