It's the New Year's Eve performance that's causing an uproar.
Hip-hop star Cee-Lo Green took on John Lennon's classic, "Imagine" on NBC's live broadcast from Times Square. But Green altered a line from the iconic song. Green sang, "Nothing to kill or die for / and all religion's true."
Lennon's original were, "Nothing to kill or die for / and no religion too."
That's right, Green changed "No religion too" to "All religion's true."
Loyal Beatle fans are up in arms.
The Twittersphere is filled with tweets like: "Cee Lo Green butchers important song. Absolutely terrible."
Green responded on Twitter: 'Yo I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys! I was trying to say a world were u could believe what u wanted that's all.'
Justin Bieber also performed a Beatles classic, singing "Let it Be." But Bieber had a moment of pure panic when he first took the stage in Times Square, he was having technical difficulties.
So who won the big New Year's Eve ratings war? Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on ABC, which drew 22.6 million viewers.
Clark, who suffered a stroke in 2004, got help ringing in the New Year from Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy.
