Lenox Hill Hospital Faces Backlash Over Birth of Beyoncé's Baby

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are home with their new baby, but the New York hospital where the baby was born is under fire for allegedly giving the music star special treatment at the expense of other families who were having babies. INSIDE EDITION has the

She's out of there. Beyoncé and her newborn daughter have left the hospital in a cloak-and-dagger operation, triggering fresh accusations about her bodyguards' high-handed behavior.

The singer, her husband Jay-Z, and three-day-old Blue Ivy Carter, were spirited away through a loading dock at 1:30 am. Their vehicle reportedly drove the wrong way down 76th street, then turned North on Park Avenue. An SUV actually blocked traffic so the convoy could get away.

There had been earlier complaints about the bodyguards.

At least two fathers say they were refused access to their newborns at Lenox Hill Hospital by Beyoncé's overzealous security detail.

New father, Edgar Ramirez, says he was prevented from seeing his baby for three hours.

"I feel like we were in a prison. It was just ridiculous," said Ramirez.

It's also being reported today that the security cameras in the maternity ward were covered with paper to prevent any unauthorized images of Beyoncé's baby from leaking out.

On The View, Joy Behar was indignant about what happened at the hospital.

Behar said, "My daughter gave birth in that hospital. I would have been very angry if they had not let her go and see her baby."

Sherri Shepherd stuck up for the celebrity couple.

"I seriouly doubt that Jay-Z and Beyoncé, if they would have known that this would have happened, that they would have gone along with it," said Shepherd.

It's also being reported that some of the other moms are thinking of taking legal action against Lenox Hill hospital over their treatment.

The executive director of Lenox Hill, Frank Danza, said, "We have made every effort to ensure minimal disruption to other families. To date, no families have complained to the hospital about being denied access."

The New York Times reported Tuesday that state officials were investigating.  A spokesman for New York State Health Department said, "Staff spoke with the hospital and determined there were no violations."

And INSIDE EDITION got a look at the see-through lucite crib like the one that the proud parents bought for their little daughter. Cost: $3,500.

A salesperson from the store where the crib is sold told INSIDE EDITION, "The crib has a shelf life of four years. It converts to a toddler bed. And of course, it's made from 100% recyclable materials."

Beyonce's former singer partner Kelly Rowland was spotted buying a gift for Beyoncé at a New York baby clothes store.

In the song that Jay-Z wrote about his new daughter, he reveals the child was conceived when he and Beyoncé were in Paris.
