Critics Choice Awards Heats Up Hollywood Competition

Hollywood’s awards season continued with the Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles and INSIDE EDITION was there to capture the big moment from the biggest stars.

It was George Clooney vs. Brad Pitt at the Critics Choice Awards in Hollywood. Both hunks were up for Best Actor.

Pitt looked drop-dead handsome in his black suit and ivory tie with his newest accessory—a cane from that recent ski slope accident.

"I'm great, I'm great. Much better," said Pitt.

Dashing George Clooney, accompanied by girlfriend Stacey Keibler dressed in a stunning off-white gown, told INSIDE EDITION how he'll handle controversial Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais on Sunday.

"I've met him a few times and I really enjoy his company. I told Stacy just to keep our heads down and enjoy it," said Clooney.

Clooney beat out his pal Brad Pitt, winning the Critics Choice award for Best Actor for The Descendants.

Viola Davis was visibly shocked when she won Best Actress for The Help. She told INSIDE EDITION how she tried to stay calm before the big show.

"I had a glass of champagne just so I could relax all of the muscles so that the smile could come naturally," said Davis.

Charlize Theron and Michelle Willams also lit up the red carpet.

And Melissa McCarthy was literally speechless when Bridesmaids won Best Comedy because she has laryngitis. She mouthed to INSIDE EDITION she lost her voice four weeks ago. Hopefully she'll get her voice back by Sunday for the Golden Globes.
