Dick Clark Dead At 82
Dick Clark is dead at age 82.
The legendary New Year's Rockin' Eve host reportedly died Wednesday morning from a massive heart attack at St. John's hospital in Los Angeles after undergoing a procedure there.
Clark had suffered a major stroke in 2004 but courageously returned to his New Year's Eve shows.
At his first comeback to Rockin' Eve in 2006, he said, "I had to teach myself how to walk and talk again. It's been a long, hard fight. My speech is not perfect but I'm getting there."
Born Richard Wagstaff Clark, he changed the way we listened to pop music as host of American Bandstand.
He also started Dick Clark Productions, which was behind hits like the $25,000 Pyramid and Bloopers and Practical Jokes.
Clark, whose eternally youthful look earned him the nickname "America's oldest teenager," is survived by his third wife Kari Wigton and three children.
