Randy Travis Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

INSIDE EDITION has the 911 call that was made when a naked Randy Travis was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Country superstar Randy Travis was recently released from jail wearing a hat and blue paper robe. He's in Texas-sized trouble after a bizarre incident Tuesday night.

An anonymous caller told 911, "I just found a guy laying in the road."

Travis was found naked in the road near his just-crashed Trans-Am.

"Has he moved at all since you've been there?" The operator asked.

"Not that I see. I want to say it was a white male, light brown hair I'm not for sure. I want to say he had no shirt on," said the caller.

Actually, police say Travis was completely naked when they found him injured near his car that had just crashed into a road construction site near Dallas. His face was bruised in his mug shot. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, and threatening law officers. According to a statement from the sheriff's department, "While Travis was being transported, he made threats to shoot and kill the troopers working the case."

A number of local fans came to the jail with clothes for the singer. No one brought him shoes and he had to walk out of jail barefoot.

INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney asked Gary Corley, one of the men who helped Travis, "Why did you give Randy your hat?"

"He had a black eye and I thought it was best for him to not walk out of the jail with all of the cameras pointed at him," said Corley.

It's the second arrest for Randy Travis just this year. In February he was charged with public intoxication after police found him allegedly drunk in a parked car in Sanger, Texas.

"What motivated you to help him?" Asked McInerney.

Corley replied, "Having someone there as soon as he opened the door that was there to offer a helping hand, I thought he might appreciate that."
