It's been 25 years since Dirty Dancing took the box office by storm. INSIDE EDITION sat down with Jennifer Grey who recalls her time of set with Patrick Swayze.
Believe it or not, it's been 25 years since Dirty Dancing hit the silver screen with a bang.
Jennifer Grey starred in the red-hot dance-romance about a rich girl who falls for a poor boy from the other side of the tracks—none other than Patrick Swayze, who died of pancreatic cancer almost three years ago.
INSIDE EDITION sat down with Jennifer Grey, who said, "I still feel like the same person who shot that movie because I don't feel older. Patrick was amazing. He was so proud of his work in this movie. It's so bizarre that I'm here without him by my side."
Grey was on the red carpet with her husband, actor Clark Gregg and their 10-year-old daughter, Stella, at the movie's 25th anniversary screening in Hollywood last night.
Nobody had great expectations for Dirty Dancing back in 1987. In fact, even the movie's now-legendary title was in jeopardy.
"They didn't want to use the title because it sounded far too risqué. It sounded like pornography," recalled Grey.
But in the end, the little film that cost just $5 million to make went on to make $170 million worldwide. And to millions of people, it's still the ultimate date movie.
Grey said, "What I think it captured is that moment, that tipping point of going from a girl to a woman."
Grey enjoyed real-life dancing success when she won Dancing With The Stars two years ago. Now, brace yourself for her next project.
"I'm opening a dance studio," said Grey.
