New Claims From Britney Spears' Former Manager

A former manager of Britney Spears makes a shocking claim that the pop star shaved her head to beat a drug test. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

There is a bombshell new claim about the most bizarre night of Britney Spears’ life. Did she shave her head in 2007 to beat a drug test?

Britney was reportedly afraid traces of illegal narcotics would show up in a hair sample, so the hair had to go.

The claim is being made in a sensational court case filed by Spears’ former manager at L.A. Superior Court in Los Angeles. He's suing Britney and her parents.

"It's amazing how much mud he is trying to throw on Britney Spears, and I have a feeling it is going to backfire on him. People see her as the comeback kid," said legal expert Royal Oakes.

Britney’s parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, are divorced but walked side by side to the court.

Britney’s former manager, Sam Lutfi, is suing because he says he was libeled in a book by Britney's mother, Lynne Spears. In her book, Through the Storm, she called him a “Svengali” and a “Predator.”

Lynne's book came out in 2008, and when she appeared on INSIDE EDITION she slammed Lutfi.

“He wore many hats. He said he was manager, he was life coach. He was none of these things,” Lynne told INSIDE EDITION.

In opening statements yesterday, Lutfi's lawyer painted a picture of Britney very different from the glamorous, healthy star who has staged a comeback on The X Factor.

Back in 2007, when she shaved her head in this now notorious incident, the attorney says she was a drug abuser. "She liked to use amphetamines," the lawyer said. He also said that Lutfi "was terrified of being her manager when she overdosed."

Jurors were shown photos of Britney shaving her head, and the infamous picture of her hitting a photographer's car with an umbrella.

Lutfi claims Britney was making $800,000 a month back then, but he never received a paycheck.
