Meet Sandra Bullock's secret son!

The Oscar® winner beams with overwhelming joy as she holds up her adopted three-and-a-half month old baby boy, Louis Bardo Bullock, on the cover of the new People magazine out Friday.

Sandra has been raising little Louie in complete secrecy since mid January, through her triumphant awards show season and during her devastating split from her cheating husband Jesse James.

"I don't know how we got away with it," Sandra tells People. "Anything we did with Louis had to be pre-planned like a C.I.A. mission."

Galina Espinoza, Sr. Editor of People magazine said, "Whenever she would take him even to a doctors appointment, there would be cars with tinted windows, there would be decoys. She had a small network of friends and family helping her in her mission."

Sandra tells the magazine that she and Jesse James began the adoption process four years ago with the urging and support of Sandra's step-daughter Sunny.

Espinoza said, "She felt very moved by her experience in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina, seeing so many children without parents. And in fact, there was a moment where Jesse's daughter, Sunny, actually said to Sandra, 'Why don't you guys think about adopting.' "

In the magazine cover photo, Louis is wearing a gift from his new big sister. A beaded necklace to represent all the kids in the family.

Sandra got the call that she was finally going to be a mom at the pinnacle of her career, while she was being showered with nominations for her performance in The Blind Side as the rich woman who adopts a poor high school kid.

"I panicked. It came right in the middle of all the media craziness of awards season," Sandra tells People. "I just didn't understand why the universe was deciding a child needed to be with us now. Of all times!"

But all her worries instantly went away when she saw her son.

"The first time I met Louis it was like the whole outside world just got quiet. All I said when I met him was 'Oh, there you are.' It was like he had always been a part of our lives," Sandra tells People magazine.

Sandra says she got the inspiration for her son's name from Louis Armstrong's classic song What a Wonderful World, that kept playing in her head.

The actress said it wasnt easy keeping little Louie a secret during awards season.

Espinoza said, "Sandra was getting very little sleep during awards season. She jokes that she doesn't even remember anything she said on the red carpet, that concealer became her best friend to cover up her under-eye circles."

Even on Sandra's golden Oscar® night at the Kodak theater she said she couldn't wait to leave and get home to Louis. Sandra said she walked the red carpet on almost no sleep, but she carried a reminder of her secret son, one of his tiny lime green socks in her purse.

Things only got crazier after the Oscars® with those Jesse James bombshell cheating allegations. A shattered Sandra says her thoughts immediately turned to her son.

"All I remember thinking, I need to get Louis out of here before the vultures descend," said Sandra to People magazine.

Now, Sandra is finalizing the adoption as a single parent and says she's loving every moment as a hands-on mom, even diaper duty, as she raises her "little man."

Sandra gushes, "He is just perfect. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, and I dont want to miss a thing."
