Grammy Awards Crasher Evades Heightened Security
As Adele headed onstage to accept the award for best pop solo performance, she did a double take. There was a random man in a suit standing next to Jennifer Lopez.
Jennifer Lopez gave him a stern look and motioned for him to get off the stage.
Now we know who that Grammy crasher is. He's a TV personality from Ukraine named Vitalii Sediuk, known for playing practical jokes. Will Smith famously slapped him in the face after he planted a kiss on the star at the Moscow premiere of Men in Black 3.
But how in the world did this guy get onto the Grammy stage?
It's especially shocking because security was heightened this year because of concern that rogue ex-cop Christopher Dorner would target the award show.
Even though he didn't have a ticket or press credentials of any kind, Sediuk reportedly strolled alongside Katy Perry before entering the Staples Center.
Once inside the arena, he took a seat in the second row, directly behind Justin Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel.
As soon as Adele won, Sediuk hopped to the stage and actually spoke into the mic. You can hear him under the applause saying, "I love you Adele. You're my inspiration!"
Sediuk told a Hollywood Reporter what he said; "I pretended that this award for me. I said, 'oh thank you so much, it's exciting to get award like this. And so, I said, 'thank you Adele, you're my inspiration."
Sediuk isn't the first Grammy crasher. Who could forget the soy bomb? A shirtless guy with “Soy Bomb” written across his chest famously crashed Bob Dylan’s Grammy performance in 1998.
Sediuk was arrested for trespassing as soon as he walked off-stage.
