Movie Critic Speaks Out About His Attack on Melissa McCarthy's Weight

The movie critic who called Melissa McCarthy a "Female hippo" is speaking out, and he's not apologizing.

Critic Rex Reed was blasted for calling McCarthy "tractor-sized" in a review of her new movie, Identity Thief, in The New York Observer.

Reed said on WOR radio, “She is basing her career on being obnoxious and being overweight. I don't care how much Melissa McCarthy weighs! I mean, she is crying all the way to the bank!"

Reed says he has gotten thousands of e-mails but is not backing down.

He said, "I don't find this to be the subject of a lot of humor and I have a perfect right to say that."
