After being sidelined for nearly two months with chickenpox, Barbara Walters returned to work co-hosting The View. INSIDE EDITION has all the details on the TV icons return.
Barbara Walters bounces back after being sidelined from The View for six weeks with health problems.
She said, "I am fine and I am healthy."
At the top of the show, Walters was helped to her seat by Joy Behar. But she looked rested and relaxed and was clearly happy to be back.
She said, "Everybody has been saying 'You look good.' What did they think, I was going to look bad?"
Walters revealed she is almost completely recovered from her bout with chickenpox, a potentially serious problem for elderly people.
She still has a faint mark from the disease, and a wound from the fall she took the week of President Obama’s Inauguration.
She said, “I still have a mark, and I have a scar.”
When New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg brought her flowers to mark her return, Walters was close to tears.
He said, “I can't let you come back without flowers.”
Regis Philbin, Walters’ first guest on The View almost 17 years ago, triggered laughter when he recycled the same flowers.
He said, “17 years ago we were cheap and we're still cheap.”
