Airdate: 04/04/2013

She's a living Hollywood legend, and now, Debbie Reynolds is taking on a new role. She's playing Liberace's mother in the much-anticipated new movie with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon airing next month on HBO.

Reynolds actually knew Liberace and even appeared on his TV special in 1978 when Liberace introduced her as, "She is one of the greatest, and she's my friend, too."

INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent asked Reynolds, "You knew Liberace?"

"I did. I knew Liberace like we were vaudevillians together. He was a great musician. He was really fabulous. He could play that piano. He was one of the finest entertainers of our time," said Reynolds.

She also has a new memoir out, Unsinkable after her famous role in The Unsinkable Molly Brown.

In the book, she writes about her three failed marriages. Her first husband, singer Eddie Fisher, dumped Reynolds to marry Elizabeth Taylor in one of the most storied love triangles of the 20th century.

"I said, 'She is going you out, Eddie, so you go ahead and have your fling and I'll see you in a year-and-a-half because you'll be out on your..."

"Tush?" said Trent.

"Tush. Yeah, that's a good one," she replied.

She also writes about her relationship with her daughter, actress Carrie Fisher who has spoken openly about her bipolar disorder.

Reynolds said, "She's doing very well now. She is a manic depressive, so sometimes she has breakdowns."

Still going strong at age 81, Reynolds seems like she really is unsinkable, giving Trent a taste of her famous impressions including Barbra Streisand and Katharine Hepburn.
