Zoe Saldana Defends Thin Frame With Grit

Zoe Saldana is defending her size after her weight became a hot button issue in the headlines. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Actress Zoë Saldana is speaking out about the uproar over the new cover of Allure magazine, which has this headline about her weight, “115 Pounds of Grit and Heartache.”

On the Today show, Saldana said, "This is how much I weigh, It's something I can't control, it's who I am. I’ve always been a very thin frame, I was a ballet dancer."

The star of the new Star Trek movie struck some very sexy poses in the magazine, in jeans and nothing else, and also with nothing on at all.

But it's the headline on the cover that's sparking outrage all over the internet.

A posting on a message board says, "I don't think putting the weight on a magazine cover for a celebrity is a good idea, we have too many young girls with body images already."

Others are asking, what's the fuss?

Sherri Shepherd said on The View, "I don't know why people are upset. It is not why this woman looks unhealthy, this is her weight, she looks very healthy."

Allure responded on Facebook: "We were so impressed by what a tough, confident woman Saldana is...that we wanted to capture that."

Saldana said on Today, "I don't think it was to make an issue of my weight, I think it was that for a light weight person, i seem to be really strong-minded."

Savannah Guthrie said, "I think that's what they were saying, that you're full of grit."
