Versace's Luxurious Mansion Hits the Auction Block

INSIDE EDITION takes a tour of Gianni Versace's elaborate mansion which has just been put on the auction block.

It’s one of the most spectacular houses in the world. The Versace mansion in South Beach Miami is going on the auction block.

Realtor Jill Eber said, "We are calling this the auction of the century. When you step through the doors, you are totally in your private world. It's spectacular."

The house sits on one of the most desirable stretches of beach in the United States. It was also the home of designer Gianni Versace before his shocking murder in 1997, when a crazed gunman shot him on the steps.

Tourists still take pictures of the spot where the legendary designer lost his life.

The mansion comes with its own observatory. Is it for watching the stars in the sky or the bodies on the beach?  That’s up to the owner.

The home is a massive 23 thousand square feet, has 10 bedrooms and 11 marble bathrooms.

Eber continued, "You feel Gianni Vesace here."

But it's the elaborately landscaped backyard that's the highlight of this beach front estate.  The one-of-a-kind pool is 54 feet long and is inlaid with 24 karat gold tiles.

Ready for the price tag?  it had been on the market for 125 million dollars but when the current owners filed bankruptcy a judge ordered it put on the auction block. Bidding will start at $25 million.
