Lindsay Lohan finally made it to court!

The troubled starlet was surrounded by cameras as she entered a Beverly Hills courthouse five days after she was a no-show at her last mandatory hearing. Lohan finally made it back from France, where she claimed her passport had been stolen at the Cannes Film Festival.

Lohan arrived seven minutes late, wearing sunglasses, a black suit, and a very low-cut white blouse.

She was escorted in by uniformed court officers. Once inside the courtroom, the 23-year-old actress looked exhausted and faced the angry judge, who had actually delayed her own vacation to be at the hearing.

Lohan's trouble with the law has put her career in crisis. According to her lawyer, she has a number of upcoming photo shoots and she is filming a movie in Texas. They asked the judge if she could have her random drug testing be done there, but the clearly fed up judge wouldn't have it. So Lohan will have to be tested in Los Angeles and wear an alcohol monitoring device.

The actress was visibly annoyed by the ruling.

"She said, 'Listen, I don't care where you are, you've got to come back to California, you've got to submit to those drug tests here, because I want to know and I want it right here in California.' That's unusual and that doesn't happen in a normal case and I have to believe that maybe she was making an example out of Lindsay," says Trent Copeland, CBS News legal analyst.

In France, the fallen star had made the most of her last days of freedom. Cameras captured her out partying in Cannes until 8 a.m., just before she left for the airport to head back to Los Angeles.

A ragged Lohan spoke out just after arriving at LAX and said she sees no reason that she should go to jail or rehab.

"I don't see why I would have to do that," Lohan said. "I have been more than in compliance with everything having to do with the court system. The only person who has suggested anything like that is my father, who clearly isn't sane."

A report in the Chicago Sun-Times quotes friends of Lohan's who claim the actress is using a "combination of booze and prescription medications (and 'God knows what else')."

Now her lawyer promises that Lohan will follow the letter of the law.

Before she left the court she was fitted with the alcohol monitoring bracelet. She is due back in court on July 6th for a full hearing on whether she's violated the terms of her probation.
