Simon Cowell is speaking out for the first time about becoming a father.
Cowell told reporters, “I'm proud to be a dad. It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it."
Appearing at the premiere of a One Direction concert film, Cowell had a few nice words for 36-year-old pregnant New York socialite Lauren Silverman.
Cowell told a reporter, "She's a very special girl."
A reporter asked, "Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?"
"I can't say," Cowell replied.
Silverman is reportedly heading to St. Tropez in the South of France to join Cowell for the first time since the scandal broke. She has been in The Hamptons working out a divorce from her husband, Manhattan real estate tycoon Andrew Silverman.
