After Racist Remarks, 'Big Brother' Guest Evicted

The Big Brother house guest who caused uproar over her racist remarks has been evicted.

Aaryn Gries, a 22-year-old former cheerleader and hot bikini model was greeted with cheers and boos from the studio audience moments after she was voted off the show.

She was confronted about her racist remarks by the show's host Julie Chen.

Chen asked, “Some of your words others were interpreted as being racist, how do you respond?”

Gries replied, “I have said things that have been taken completely out of context and I didn't mean to ever come off racist. That is not me. I apologize to anyone who I offended.”

Gries caused a furor by saying this about house guest Candice.

“Watch what you say in the dark you may not see the [expletive],” said Gries.

She said this about house guest Helen, “Dude, go make some rice!”

And this about Andy, who is gay, “No one's going to vote for anyone that queer puts up.”

There were many more.

Julie Chen expressed her pain and outrage over the remarks on The Talk, “This is 2013. I was a little naive thinking there are still people who talk that way and feel that way in this country? Yes, there is!”

Chen told Gries, “Let me just read back some of the things you said.”
Gries winced and tears welled up as Chen read back to her some of the offensive remarks she made, but her answer is being ridiculed by some.

“I feel horrible. In Texas we say things we joke and we don't mean it and I really feel bad that this is how it is being seen and how I’ve come across to people,” said Gries.

Her answer is being ridiculed on internet forums.

One viewer posted, "Why do racists always claim they're not racists?"

Another said, "She's stupid for not admitting to it and apologizing."

Despite being evicted, she is still cut off from the outside world and doesn't know she has been dumped by her model agency over her remarks.
