A Look into Blanche's Many Men!

INSIDE EDITION has exclusive interviews with two of the men Rue Mcclanahan was involved with in the past.  Did this Golden Girl act like Blanche in real life?

The late Rue Mcclanahan got lots of laughs at the 2008 TV Land Awards show poking fun at her third husband during the final public appearance with her Golden Girls co-stars. Now, meet Rue's third husband, Peter Demaio.

"Rue was a lot of fun," Demaio said.

Rue and Peter were married for seven years from 1964 to 1971.  Peter wasn't surprised that Rue got laughs, even at his expense.

Rue said at the TV Land Awards show, "It looks just like my third husband, without his arms," pointing to her award.

"She had a great sense of humor and she was extremely talented," Demaio said.

Rue was married six times.  But, according to Peter, in real life she wasn't anything like her man-crazy Golden Girls character, Blanche Devereaux.

"She was not really like that, she was a pretty straight-laced woman."

INSIDE EDITION also sat down with Rue's sixth and last husband, Morrow Wilson.  Even though Rue and Morrow were legally separated at the time of Rue's death, this would be her longest marriage, 12 years.

"Thank God for videotape and that those reruns are going to go on for the rest of our lives for sure.  So, she'll always be with us in that way," Wilson said.

Many see the Golden Girls as the inspiration for Sex and the City.

"Blanche was the original cougar," Wilson said.  "I've never loved anyone the way I loved Rue."

Now that Rue is gone, the men who loved her remember her as much more than TV's Golden Girl.
