Golden Globes Snubs And Praises

Golden Globes Snubs And Praises

It was a big slap in the face for The Butler. The critically acclaimed movie starring Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker was shut out when the Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning. The film didn't receive a single nomination. Ironic, considering just yesterday Oprah was nominated for a SAG award.

The Huffington Post calls the shut-out "one of the wildest snubs in recent Globes memory."

Pete Hammond of Deadlinehollywood.com told INSIDE EDITION, "Even if they didn't like the film, come on, it's Oprah! They would love to see her on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. I think she's pretty shocked by this, too."

The nominations were announced by Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde and comedian Aziz Ansari.

American Hustle picked up seven Golden Globe nominations, including one for all four principle actors; Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale. The movie shared the honor of most nominations with 12 Years A Slave.

In the Best Actress in a Drama category, Gravity star Sandra Bullock is the only American nominated.

Hollywood veteran Bruce Dern is nominated as Best Actor in a Comedy for his role in the indie movie Nebraska. His co-star, Julie Squibb, is nominated for Best Actress.

Dern told INSIDE EDITION, "I'm just thrilled because it means people are recognizing that Nebraska is something that they should get out and see."

On the TV side, Big Bang Theory and Modern Family were both nominated along with some surprises.

Hammond said, "A lot of curve balls this morning, particularly on the TV category. You're seeing shows like Orphan Black and Orange Is the New Black and these titles that a lot of people haven't heard of."
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the actual Golden Globe awards ceremony on January 12.

INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret spoke to Miss Golden Globe, Kevin Bacon's daughter, Sosie Bacon who said, "I'm so excited for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, I can't even tell you. They are so funny."
