Julia Roberts' Half-Sister Dies Of Drug Apparent Overdose

INSIDE EDITION has details on the death of Julia Roberts' half-sister, found dead of an apparent drug overdose.

Tragic news for actress Julia Roberts. Her half-sister, Nancy has died of an apparent drug overdose. She was found dead Sunday at 2:12 p.m.

In a statement: "It is with deep sadness that the family...confirms that she was found dead in Los Angeles yesterday of an apparent drug overdose. The family is both shocked and devastated."

Roberts had long been estranged from her younger sister for many years. Nancy recently claimed that growing up, Julia teased her about her weight, which pushed her to get gastric bypass surgery. Nancy went from 300 pounds down to 155 pounds.

Her death comes on the heels of Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman's shocking heroin overdose in New York last week.

This was supposed to be a great time for Julia Roberts. She's on the cover of Vanity Fair and was expected to attend Monday's high-profile Oscar luncheon with this year's other nominees. Roberts is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in August: Osage County.

Today, Roberts is no doubt grappling with the news of her family tragedy.
