Former Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet accidentally crashed her black Maserati sports car into an electrical pole in Southern California early Wednesday morning.

She's already tweeting about it: “Rough morning. Accident on my way 2 work. Life's wakeup call. Tons of cops & of course photogs. Poor Maserati..yes I was sober.”

It happened around 7:40 a.m. when witnesses reported seeing her car "swerving" before it crashed into a chain link fence and a pole, damaging the front end of her car.  She took a field sobriety test on the scene and she passed.

The 42-year-old TV personality told police there was a problem with the steering wheel, and that's what caused the crash.

The news comes on the heels of her being replaced as co-host of Dancing with the Stars by Erin Andrews.

Luckily, she walked away unharmed. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Cops say the damage to her Maserati was minor.  Her rep tells us she is fine and was on her way to tape an appearance on Melissa & Joey which airs on ABC Family.
