George Clooney's Enagement Ring Becomes Talk Of Hollywood

It is the piece of jewelry that everyone is talking about—George Clooney's engagment ring to his future bride, Amal Alamuddin. INSIDE EDITION has the details on the rock.

It's the rock that's rocking the world—the engagement ring on the finger of Amal Alamuddin, the future Mrs. George Clooney.

The new cover of People magazine, on stands Friday, has your first look at the sparkler, and boy did she do good.

Kate Coyne, Associate Editor of People magazine, told INSIDE EDITION, "The ring is dazzling. It is over seven karats, an emerald cut stone that was ethically mined, set in platinum, with two tapered baguettes on either side."

It turns out that despite his reputation as a committed lifetime bachelor, Clooney may just be an old-fashioned romantic man.

Coyne said, "This was actually a very old-fashioned proposal. George made sure he met and spent time with Amal's family before hand. When he popped the question, he got down on one knee."

But don't expect a big splashy media extravaganza. Early reports suggest that the couple is looking for small, elegant and very private.

Coyne said, "A source within Amal's family speculates that there could be a wedding as close as September. Sources close to George's family say that there is no rush and that this could be a long engagement."
