Big Casting Shake-Up At 'The View'

Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd are departing The View leaving many to wonder who will fill their seats. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

There is a big shake-up at The View. Sherri Shepherd is out the door and so is Jenny McCarthy.

Shepherd who has been with The View for seven years, confirmed she was out of there, saying: “After careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”

McCarthy, who joined the crew just a year ago, is out as well.

Ian Drew from Us Weekly told INSIDE EDITION, "They obviously want to totally revamp the show. Jenny did not deliver what they thought she would deliver. She was more restrained. She didn't really go out there with her opinions as much. It just did not prove to be the right combination on the show."

ABC said it was seeking to "evolve the show creatively." That leaves Whoopi Goldberg as the sole remaining host. Speculation is rampant as to who will fill the chairs come this fall.

Could a man be part of the mix? TV personality Ross Mathew’s is said to be under consideration. So is former New York Giants quarterback and Bachelor contestant Jesse Palmer.

Rosie O’Donnell is also said to be under consideration, even after her news-making departure from the show seven years ago.

Former View co-host Meredith Vieira talked about O’Donnell on the Today show, saying, “You all have heard about Rosie maybe returning. I don't know if that is true or not."
