How Elin Learned Tiger Was Cheating

New details have emerged that Tiger Woods's wife Elin found out he was cheating by catching a text message he sent to Rachel Uchitel. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

Heartbreaking new details are emerging about how Tiger Woods's wife, Elin, discovered he was cheating.

Published reports say 34-year-old Elin found a text message Tiger reportedly sent to girlfriend Rachel Uchitel on his cell phone stating, "You are the only one I've loved."

Elin pretended to be Tiger and texted Rachel at 1 a.m., saying: "I miss you. When are we seeing each other again?" When Rachel texted back, Elin knew the truth and called her to confront her about the affair. Realizing she had been caught in a trap, Rachel reportedly said, "Oh, (expletive deleted)."

The texts are revealed today by The Daily Beast investigative reporter Gerald Posner. INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander asked Posner, "So Elin pretended to be Tiger to trap Rachel?"

Posner said, "Exactly. And from the reaction of Rachel when she gets that call and she hangs up immediately after sort of swearing, she clearly was fooled. She thought, in fact it was Tiger."

A violent argument erupted between Elin and Tiger, ending with Tiger fleeing the house in his SUV.

"The next thing you know, she grabs a gold club and he high tails it out of there. He gets in that car, barefooted in the Escalade, and he tries to escape from the house, slams into the fire hydrant and the tree, and the rest of sort of history," said Posner.

But Elin has not given up on the marriage. She reportedly spent the weekend visiting Tiger at this rehab clinic in Mississippi where he is being treated for sex addiction.
