Two of Josh Duggar's Sisters Confirm He Molested Them

Members of the Duggar clan broke their silence to Fox News' Megyn Kelly and two of Josh's sisters confirm they were molested by their brother.

Two of Josh Duggar's sisters are breaking their silence and confirming they were molested by their brother when they were youngsters.

They say they have been victimized again by being publicly dragged into the scandal, saying, “We're victims, they can't do this to us.”

Jill and Jessa spoke exclusively to Fox News' Megyn Kelly, as did their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

Jessa said, "The system that was set up to protect kids, both those who make stupid mistakes or have problems like this in their life, and the ones that are affected by those choices, it's greatly failed."

The mom and dad described the day they first learned about their son's issues.

Jim Bob said, “Josh came to us on his own and he was crying, and he had just turned 14, and he said he had actually improperly touched some of our daughters.”

Kelly asked, “Did he explain why? Was that a question that you asked?”

Jim Bob said, "He said he was just curious about girls and he had gone in and just basically touched them over their clothes while they were sleeping. They didn't even know he had done it."

The Duggars say they tried to deal with the crisis as a family. But the molestation reoccurred. In total four sisters were victimized, as well as the family babysitter. The Duggars say they knew they had to act.

Jim Bob said, "That's when we pulled him out of the house. We said, ‘He can't be here.’”

Michelle said, "We were devastated. And we said we've got to send him out of the home, he has got to and seek counsel and get help."

Josh was sent for live-in therapy at a Christian-based treatment center.

Michelle Duggar wept as she told how she explained his absence to their other kids.

She said, “For days and days I was saying, 'You know, Josh has done some very bad things and he's, he's very sorry.'”

After Josh finished the therapy, the Duggars say they went to the police.

Jim Bob said, "We felt like the last step was to make things right with the law, because he had broken the law. So, we took him down to the local police station, actually the closest one to our house. It was Arkansas State Police headquarters and walked in and talked to a man there."

Kelly asked, "What was that like? How do you make the decision as a parent to bring your child to law enforcement and turn him over?"

"We felt like it was an important step for Josh to confess to the police what he had done," said Jim Bob.

A police report says Josh was given "a very stern talk" by the officer, but no charges were filed. More than a decade later, In Touch magazine would blow the lid off the scandal.

Reaction to the interviews is split.

"An unholy disaster” says The Daily Beast website.

But the family has supporters too.

"Still think the Duggar family is a great family!" says one. "People make mistakes."

And this comment, "The pain on #michelleduggars face & in her voice breaks my heart."

TLC has pulled 19 Kids and Counting from the schedule indefinitely in the wake of the revelations about Josh Duggar.
