Playing Why One Couple is Thrilled the FDA is Backing 'Female Viagra'

Cheers and applause as an FDA advisory committee votes to recommend the approval of a drug known as “Female Viagra.”

And nobody's happier about it than Barbara and Greg Gattuso.

Barbara told INSIDE EDITION’s Steven Fabian, “It just totally brings back what you'd lost."

Barbara says she suffered from low sexual desire, and took the controversial drug called Flibanserin on a trial basis.

Fabian asked, "Describe what this drug did for you."

She said laughing, "It made me want to attack my husband!”

Greg then chimed in and said, "Lucky for me! This drug completely transformed her. It was amazing."

The drug, which passed the advisory committee by a vote of 18-6, is expected to be approved by the FDA in August.

Some doctors are expressing reservations about side effects, including low blood pressure, dizziness and nausea.

Dr. Tara Narula said on CBS This Morning, "Even though eighteen voted in favor, there was a lot of reticence and hesitation. The concerns were that the pill has side effects and the benefits are marginal, or modest, in terms of improving sexual desire."

Fabian then asked Barbara, “Barbara, what were some of the side effects you experienced?”

She said, "None whatsoever! Just a real nice positive one!"
