Tracey Carver was on video caught in the middle at the Texas pool party, and tells INSIDE EDITION exclusively that claims that she's a racist are untrue.
The mom caught on video brawling with a teenager at that infamous Texas pool party is now speaking out to INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret.
“My life has been completely turned upside down,” Tracey Carver said.
She said she's been forced to flee her home outside Dallas and relocate to California because of threats against her life.
“I am not a racist. I couldn't be further from that word. I love everybody equally,” she said.
The pool party has fueled a national debate about race because of a heavy-handed cop who used questionable force when dealing with the teens.
Carver said she was leaving the pool with her two kids and a friend when a fight erupted with the teen who organized the party.
Carver claimed she tried to break it up. “I intervened to separate something, to defuse the situation. My kids were there, they were horrified, they can be heard screaming in the background, and I just wanted it to stop,” she said.
After the video went viral, Carver was accused of using racial slurs right before the scuffle started.
Moret asked, “Did you use any racial slurs?”
Carver said, “No sir.”
She has been suspended from her job of 17 years at a financial services company -- and broke down when appearing at a news conference with her lawyer, Gloria Allred.
“I pray that something good comes from this, and that people stop buying into the horrific lies that are spread via social media that are destroying lives by the moment,” Carver said.
Aaron Clark, who was best man at the wedding of Carver and her husband, came forward to defend her. He lived with them for two years.
Moret asked, “What do you want people to know about Tracey?”
Clark said, “That she is absolutely not a racist. Why would she let an African-American stay at her house, be involved with her kids, is she was a racist?”
The teenager seen in the fight video has just announced she is launching a modeling career, and released some swimsuit photos.
Nineteen-year-old Tatyana Rhodes said in a press release that she wants to turn "negative attention of the unfortunate pool party events into a positive jumpstart for her modeling career."
Reaction on line is decidedly mixed. "Beautiful. If only she could start a show that takes bad cops off the street,” read one comment.
Another said, "She gets a career and the cop loses his."
Carver said nothing positive at all has happened for her since she was thrust into the public spotlight. “I want to say it nearly destroyed my life. It's just not who I am," she said.
