Tiger Woods Divorce is Final

The marriage between Tiger Woods and his wife Elin is now officially over.

The divorce, filed just today in Panama City, Florida was described as "amicable" in a just-released joint statement saying,

"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future.  While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.  The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern."

A source tells People magazine that Elin is relieved about the divorce saying, "Now she's got a whole new life ahead of her."

Terms of the divorce were not released, although it's been speculated that Elin could receive $100 million in assets from Woods.

The divorce comes nine months after Woods crashed his SUV outside their home in Orlando, opening the door to his secret life of rampant infidelity with a string of mistresses and lovers.
