This Newborn Tiger Cub's First Steps Will Melt Your Heart

The unnamed cub weighed less than three pounds when he was born at Dreamworld's Tiger Island on the Gold Coast of Australia on Saturday.

An Australian wildlife foundation has welcomed an adorable new addition - a tiny tiger cub.

The unnamed cub weighed less than three pounds when he was born at Dreamworld’s Tiger Island on the Gold Coast of Australia and he has already taken his first steps.

The cub is the first to be born at the wildlife foundation in seven years. It's the fourth ever to be born there in the last 20 years.

After a challenging pregnancy for the cub’s mom, nine-year-old Nika, the cub was born perfectly healthy.

He arrived on Saturday, which was just in time for World Tiger Day on Wednesday.

The baby tiger will remain in his den box but can be viewed by television monitors. He will stay by his mother's side and will be introduced to other tigers in September.
