Idol Contestant Accused of Being a Terrorist

The judges winced when wannabe contestant Dr. Khurram Sher appeared on the Canadian version of American Idol.

He performed an Avril Lavigne hit in traditional Pakistani garb, and even moonwalked.
But incredibly, the Idol wannabe who seemed like a harmless clown is now an accused terrorist.

Police say Sher was part of a terror cell planning bomb attacks.

Police raided his home and the homes of two other accused terrorists and took away 50 circuit boards designed to detonate bombs by remote control.

"I've been here for a couple of years. I came in 2K5 so, 3 years," Sher had told the judges.

28-year-old Sher claimed to be a Pakistani immigrant during his Idol audition in 2008. In fact, he was raised in Montréal.

"I can sing Hillary Duff, "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne," remarked Sher.

And friends say that the accent he used on the show was a fake. Sher is completely westernized, speaks English perfectly and is married with 3 children.

He plays in a Muslim hockey league and represented Pakistan in a floor hockey championship in Pittsburgh in 2005.

There are American Idol shows in 42 countries, all following the same famed format, including Canada.

The Idol judges weren't impressed with Sher, and Sher danced out of the audition backwards.

But no one's laughing today at this alleged terrorist clown!
