White House Staffer Allegedly Shoots At Her Cop Boyfriend During Argument About Another Woman

Barvetta Singletary, a special assistant to the president, has since had her access to the White House revoked.

A White House staffer has been arrested for allegedly shooting at her boyfriend - a Capitol Hill police officer - as they argued about another woman, police said.

Barvetta Singletary, a special assistant to the president and House legislative affairs liaison, has since had her access to the White House revoked, according to a White House spokesperson.

On Friday, the 37-year-old texted the unidentified officer asking him to come to her home in Upper Marlboro for sex, according to charging documents cited by NBC.

After they had sex, she allegedly confronted him about another woman he was dating. They went to his car, where she demanded to see his cell phones, according to charging documents.

When he refused, she grabbed his officer's service weapon - a .40-caliber Glock 23 - from a bag, according to the charging documents.

She ran towards her home and he followed, pleading with her to return the weapon, NBC reported.

When she demanded he tell her the passwords to his cell phones, he refused and she allegedly pulled out the gun.

"You taught me how to use this, don't think I won't use it," she said, according to the police report.

She then allegedly pulled the trigger, firing one round at the sofa where he was sitting. He was not hit.

Singletary's victim said he saw her wipe down the weapon before he fled and called 911.
