An incredible video shows the moment two strangers came face-to-face after realizing they were almost identical.

Ambra, from Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Jennifer, from Spring, Texas, found each other after just a few minutes on the website TwinStrangers.com.

The website, which was set up by Niamh Geany, aims to match people with their unrelated doppelgangers across the world. Niamh, from Dublin, Ireland, made headlines earlier this year when she tracked down a stranger who looked just like her.

Her team helped Ambra, 23, fly from North Carolina to Texas to meet Jennifer, 33, in the flesh after realizing they had an uncanny resemblance.

As a video shows, they were shocked when they first set eyes on each other.

Jennifer later said: "I was awestruck the moment I saw her face in person. I did not want to take my eyes off her... I was filled with this burning desire to get to know everything about her all at once."

Ambra called the experience "surreal."

"To see my face on another person was disconcerting and felt odd," she said.

They later prepared themselves for a side-by-side photo shoot to showcase their similarities.

Jennifer explained: "There was a moment after we did our makeup that I looked in the mirror. I thought I was looking at myself at first... When I realized my mistake, I turned the mirror and felt a jolt of shock when I saw us together. It was actually a pretty terrifying feeling, like seeing your own ghost."

The women also discovered they had similarities beyond their appearances, such as a love for reading and horses. Their birthdays are also just two days apart.

Jennifer's mother was also blown away by the similarities.

"You're not adopted?!" she asked Ambra.

The women say they plan to stay in touch.

According to the website, everyone has seven 'twin strangers' across the world.

"Everyone should be searching for their own Twin Strangers," Ambra said. "It was a fantastic, unique experience and I can’t wait to meet my next one!"
