Senatorial Candidate Christine O'Donnell Becomes Late Night Fodder

Republican senatorial candidate Christine O'Donnell is thrust under the microscope, particularly with the late night comics. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

Overnight, Christine O'Donnell rocketed into the national spotlight with her stunning victory in Delaware's Republican primary for the U.S. Senate.

Now, of course, she's become a target for the late-night comedians.

"The Palin is strong in this one. My God, just give her bangs and rim glasses and—Oh my god! No!" Jon Stewart joked.

"She's being called the Sarah Palin of the east. Really, she's a loud, emotionally unstable woman from Delaware? That's not Palin, that's Joe Biden!" Craig Ferguson zinged.

A 1996 video of O'Donnell advocating abstinence on the MTV show "Sex in the Nineties" unleashed even more jokes.

"You can't masturbate without lust," said O'Donnell in the video.

Jay Leno joked, "So not only is she against politicians putting their hands in our pockets, she's against you putting your hands in your own pockets as well!"

O'Donnell spoke out today about that old video that's drawing so much attention.

"I'm in my 40's now. I've matured in a lot of my positions and a lot of the way I present my beliefs," defended O'Donnell.

And INSIDE EDITION learned more about the Senate candidate who's rocking U.S. politics.

Christine O'Donnell is single and says she regrets not having children. In 2008, she defaulted on the $90,000 mortgage for her home. And the IRS filed a lean against her for 11-thousand dollars in back taxes.

"They've generated stories based on half truths and we addressed everything on the website because we have nothing to hide—I have nothing to hide," stated O'Donnell.

On C-SPAN in 2003, she said she was a big fan of The Lord of the Rings, and her favorite character is the warrior princess played by actress Liv Tyler.

"She was a warrior spirit, and to me, that's who I love," said O'Donnell.

Now O'Donnell begins an epic battle of her own for the U.S. Senate.
