The 40-Year-Old Virgin Actor Found Guilty of Attempted Murder

Actor Shelley Malil, best-known for his supporting role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, was found guilty of attempted murder for stabbing his ex-girlfriend 20 times. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

A woman breaks down reliving the night her boyfriend tried to kill her. A bloody assault that erupted when he found her with another man.

Her ex, Shelley Malil, best known for his role in Steve Carrell's hit The 40-Year Old Virgin, has just been found guilty of attempted murder. He sat emotionless as the verdict was read in a Vista, California court.

Malil's bizarre defense was that he was wildly swinging a knife in the darkness with his head down, completely unaware of the injuries he was inflicting on 38-year-old Kendra Beebe.

In the end, the jury was swayed by the dramatic account Beebe gave of the attack, when she said to the court, "He was so calm. He never raised his voice, he wasn't yelling. He's like, 'Yeah, right. You love me' Bam!"

Beebe told INSIDE EDITION, "I wasn't just telling what happened, but I was reliving it. I felt it."

Moments after Malil was found guilty, a tearful Beebe spoke outside court. Believe it or not she still feels sympathy for her ex-boyfriend.

"No one wins. His daughter doesn't win. I don't win. My family doesn't win," said Beebe.

Beebe says she is now trying to heal her emotional and physical wounds from this brutal attack.

"I look at the scars as, I survived, and that I'm a survivor," said Beebe.
