Actor Who Voiced 'Charlie Brown' Pleads Guilty to Threatening to Hire a Hit Man to Kill Sheriff

Peter Robbins, the former child actor who supplied the voice of 'Charlie Brown' in TV specials, pleads guilty to threatening to have sheriff killed.

Peter Robbins, the former child actor who supplied the world-weary voice of “Charlie Brown,” has pleaded guilty to threating to hire a hit man to kill San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore.

Robbins, 59, told Judge William Chidsey, Jr. that he suffers from bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia.

He faces up to nearly five years in prison at his sentencing on Dec. 7, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“I’m mentally ill. I’ve committed no crime,” Robbins said in court Tuesday.

Robbins was the voice of the beloved character in several 1960s TV specials including the classic A Charlie Brown Christmas.  

In June, he unleashed a profanity-laced tirade in another San Diego courtroom, where he was appearing for probation violations. “I hope you drop dead of a heart attack,” he shouted at Judge Robert O’Neil.

In 2013, he pleaded guilty to threatening his former girlfriend, Shawna Kern, and to stalking the plastic surgeon who did her breast implants.

“It broke my heart,” Kern told INSIDE EDITION after Robbins’ court room outburst. “He looked like an animal.”

His probations violations included drinking alcohol and cutting off his GPS ankle bracelet, prosecutors said.

He was last arrest was in September, when he was charged with threatening the sheriff, a judge and a trailer park manager, authorities said.
