As 'Lord of the Dance' Michael Flatley Prepares to Retire, He Reveals: I Never Wanted to Be a Dancer
It's the final dance for Michael Flatley.
At 57, and after a long list of injuries, the Lord of the Dance is retiring - but not until he completes his final show.
His new performance, "Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games," has just opened at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway and will run until the end of the year.
"It's been my dream as a little boy to dance on Broadway," Flately told INSIDE EDITION as he invited us backstage.
But the married dad, who hails from Chicago, revealed he never wanted to be a dancer.
"I was about 11 years old. I was dragged by my ears by my parents and I hated it," he said.
But Flatley went on to turn traditional Irish dancing into an international phenomenon.
