Flip or Flop is a popular show on HGTV where Tarek and Christina El Moussa buy rundown houses and fix them and flip them for a nice profit. The fan noticed the lump on Tarek’s neck.

He told INSIDE EDITION: “I remember getting this email and it was life changing... ‘This is not a joke. I'm a registered nurse. I've been watching Flip Or Flop. I noticed that the host Tarek has a large nodule on his thyroid, and he needs to have it checked out.’"

It turned out to be a cancerous tumor that spread to his lymph nodes. Tarek underwent surgery followed by radiation therapy.

Fortunately, thanks to that viewer his thyroid cancer was caught in the nick of time and is now in remission.

The sharp-eyed viewer was registered nurse Ryan Read, who works at Denton Regional Hospital in Denton, Texas.

She told INSIDE EDITION: "It feels really good knowing that he was able to get a correct diagnosis (and) get treatment - treatment that was successful and he has been able to go on with his life."

Tarek and Christina, who recently had their second child, say they will forever be grateful that Ryan was watching their show so closely.

"She saved his life and I can't express how I feel about that," Christina said.
